I love the view looking out into our front yard in the morning: the cherry, maple, and oak trees are all looking awesome and amazing.

You can't be serious! This is your front yard? How much acreage do you own? I am in the wrong profession. :-)
I think your East-coast bias taints your view on the average property size in the Midwest. Maybe you should start a new branch for your firm in MN...
Our lot is 80'w x 300'd, so it's just under an acre. Our house site in the middle of the lot. The cherry trees are just across the street, and there's an open field across the street.
